Camping fees apply for camping at Cleaverville and Forty Mile Point from 1 May to 30 September. These are payable to the caretaker on site:

  • Daily $7
  • Weekly (in advance) $45
  • Monthly (in advance) $150

Dog Control

All dogs in the Shire over the age of three months must be registered by someone over the age of 18. It is an offence not to register your dog and you could be issued with a significant, on-the-spot fine for failing to do so.

We encourage all dog owners to sterilise their pets to prevent them contributing to the increasing population of unwanted dogs and puppies.

Environmental Health Services

Environmental Health Services is responsible for maintaining high environmental and public health standards within the Shire of Roebourne, providing an advisory, educational and enforcement role. Environmental Health Officers administer various Acts and other legislation which regulate:

Planning

Planning Services can provide advice regarding the use and development of land, subdivision, and compliance with the Shire of Roebourne Town Planning Scheme.

Ranger Services

Ranger Services can be contacted seven days a week on 9186 8555. Rangers patrol all towns, beaches and tourist spots and provide a number of services to the local community and are available to offer advice on animal control.

Rates

Rates are raised annually in July and payment can be made at the Shire of Roebourne Administration Office or online at www.roebourne.wa.gov.au. There is a rates incentive scheme where ratepayers who pay their rates in full each year and not in partial payments are entered into a draw to win some fantastic prizes.

Roads & Footpaths

The Shire of Roebourne is responsible for the majority of roads within the Shire, however some are private access roads and others are managed by Main Roads.

Main Roads responsibility lies with:

  • Madigan Road
  • Karratha Road
  • Dampier Highway (begins at Karratha Road turnoff)
  • Burrup Road, Dampier (not Point Samson)
  • Point Samson – Roebourne Road
  • North West Coast Highway
