Cossack Art Award

The Cossack Art Award is the richest regional acquisitive art award in Australia, open to artists nation wide. An annual event, the 2011 competition entries close on Friday 17 June, with the awards night on Saturday 16 July.

The exhibition runs daily from 10am to 3pm from Sunday 17 July to Sunday 9 August at Cossack's Bond Store and Post and Telegraph Building.

Council Meetings

The Shire Council meets on the third Monday of every month and has recently started a new outreach initiative which sees the meetings held at different locations across the Shire.

The council is strongly committed to actively engaging all towns across the region and meetings are open for the public to attend. Each meeting commences at 6.30pm.

FeNaClNG Festival

The annual event will be held on Saturday 30 July and Sunday 31 July 2011. FeNaClNG Festival has food, clothing, souvenirs, crafts and jewellery stalls, along with sideshows, rides and activities for all the family.

Local community groups use the festival as an opportunity to raise funds. The Festival also provides community groups with the opportunity to showcase their talents to the crowds, participating in performances including martial arts, dance, music, animals and more. Visitors can also get involved by entering the Tug-O-War or Iron Man competitions.

Many sporting events are held at facilities adjacent to the festival over the weekend, including softball, tennis, squash, rugby, equestrian and dog training exhibitions.
