Our district continues to experience thriving growth and is taking its rightful place, not only as a major resources hub, but as a diverse and revitalised town that offers the unique Pilbara lifestyle.

The State Government has committed over $900 million through Royalties for Regions to upgrade infrastructure and amenities in Pilbara towns. Many social and economic development projects are already underway in the district greatly increasing opportunities for our business community.

The KDCCI has also experienced exponential growth in membership over the last 12 months, and has upgraded the senior employed position within the organisation to Chief Executive Officer.

Along with this senior position the Chamber now also has a designated Events and Marketing Officer. With the support of an Administration Assistant the organisation now has the resources and capacity to provide a higher level of service and expertise for our members.

A number of new projects and initiatives will be introduced in 2011 and 2012 including a two day Economic Summit, a major event that has attracted internationally renowned speakers as well as a high level of participation and support from the business community.

In the coming 12 months the KDCCI will also host a corporate golf day for members, along with regular networking events, professional development seminars and information workshops.

The KDCCI aims to provide a high level of communication with members and major stakeholders, and is also developing a number of strategic partnerships with local organisations for major projects and initiatives.

It is certainly an exciting time to be a part of the Pilbara region and the coming years will be pivotal in determining the future of Karratha. On behalf of the Board I would like to wish you all a successful and prosperous 2011/2012.
